Bock Wine Cellar

The Bock Wine Cellar is a family business. The tradition of wine-growing and wine producing dates back to several decades, what is more centuries in the family history. The ancestors came to Hungary from Germany in the 18th century. The family has been dealing with grapes growing and wine making since 1850 in the Villány wine-growing region, and already at the time their vineyards were grown on 3 hectares. The love of wine and the tricks of wine producing are handing down from father to son, and this is how this family business is continuously growing.
The Bock Wine Cellar is located in the southernmost part of Hungary, and it is one of the leading wineries of the Villány wine-growing region. The winery has 50 hectares in production, from which 16 hectares was planted in the spring of 2004. The vineyards are situated in the best wine-growing fields of Villány (Jammertal, Csillagvölgy, Kopár-dűlő, Fekete-hegy, Bocor-dűlő), where mainly red grape varieties are grown. The most characteristic varieties and the wines are made from them, just like: Portugieser, Kékfrankos (Bluefrankish), Cabernet varieties, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and the blends Royal Cuvée, Bock Cuvée, Capella Cuvée and Ermitage. The winery only makes the highest quality wines. Most of wines are sold to the Hungarian gastronomy and in wine shops, nevertheless the export increasingly gathers ground.
As a result of the persistent, hard work and expertise Mr. József Bock was awarded by the Hungarian Academy of Wine with the flattering rank as the "WINE-MAKER OF THE YEAR" in 1997. The wines of Bock Wine Cellar have won several national and international prizes in different kind of competitions: Grand Gold, Gold and Silver Medals.
The winery had been built between 1996 and 2003. The modern processing plant together with the cellar are meet the requirements of the European Union.
The Bock Wine Cellars has been dealing with hospitality since 1996 and it has also active member of wine tourism in the Villány region. The Bock Wine Cellar, Pension and Restaurant located in the centre of Villány, have 21 rooms which can accomodate 45 guests. The charge of service includes the buffet breakfast and the usage of sauna, solarium and Jacuzzi. The winery has a closed parking place.
Those, who pay a visit to the Bock Wine Cellar, may participate in wine tasting from wines of the house, and may see the cellar where the wine lovers will be initiated into the secrets of wine making. Our restaurant and conference room are both perfect place for family and other gatherings (corporate events, meetings).

Weingut Bock

Die Kellerei Bock ist ein Familienunternehmen. Die Tradition des Weinbaus kann in der Familie auf mehrere Jahrzehnte sogar Jahrhunderte zurückgeführt werden. Die Vorfahren der Familie Bock siedelten sich im 18. Jahrhundert aus Deutschland nach Ungarn um. Seit 1850 beschäftigt sich die Familie Bock mit Weinbau in der Villányer Weingegend, schon damals bebauten die Vorfahren 3 ha Weingarten. Die Liebe zum Weinbau und die Feinheiten der Weinproduktion gab immer der Vater seinen Sohn weiter und so entstand dieser Familienunternehmen.
Das Weingut Bock befindet sich in Süd-Ungarn. Es ist in der Villányer Weingegend eine der bedeutendsten Kellereien. Zur Zeit gehört zum Weingut 50 ha Weingarten, was bebaut wird. Davon wurde 16 ha im Frühjahr 2004 gepflanzt. Die Weingärten befinden sich in den besten Fluren des Weingebietes (Jammertal, Sterntal, Kopár-dűlő, Fekete-hegy, Bocor-dűlő), wo hauptsächlich Rebsorten für Rotweine angebaut werden. Die typischsten Weinsorten sind: Portugieser, Blaufränkisch, die Cabernet Sorten, Merlot, Pinot noir, Syrah, und aus diesen Sorten zusammengestellte Cuvée Weine sind: Bock Cuvée, Royal Cuvée, Capella Cuvée und Ermitage. Die Kellerei Bock produziert nur Qualitätsweine. Der größte Teil der Weine wird in Ungarn in der Gastronomie und in Weingeschäften verkauft und außerdem werden immer mehr Weine auch exportiert.
Josef Bock bekam 1997 den Titel "Winzer des Jahres". Auf mehreren Weinweltbewerben in Ungarn und in Ausland bekam er für seine Weine Großen Gold, Gold oder Silber Medaile.
Auf dem Weingut wurden zwischen 1996 und 2003 die Fermentationsräume und der Keller modernisiert, so entsprechen sie heute den EU-Forderungen.
Das Weingut Bock ist auch aktiver Teilnehmer der Villányer Weinturismus. Die Kellerei beschäftigt sich auch mit Gäste-Betreuung. Das Anwesen - wo Kellerei, Pension (mit 21 Zimmer für 45 Personen) und auch Restaurant geführt werden - befindet sich im Zentrum von der Stadt Villány. Die Pensionsgäste erwartet ein Büffet-Frühstück und sie können Sauna, Solarium und Sprudelbad benutzen. Im Hof haben die Gäste auch Parkmöglichkeiten.
Die Gäste der Weingut Bock haben die Möglichkeit die Weine der Kellerei zu verkosten, werden auch durch den Keller geführt und können die Stationen der Weinproduktion kennenlernen. Das Restaurant und Konferenzraum sind sowohl für Familiären Veranstaltungen als auch für Firmen-Veranstaltungen gut geeignet.
